City leaders in Monterey are looking for a new childcare agency to move into the Kindercare building as soon as possible. They say they understand the urgency brought about by the owners of Kinder Care saying they will close their Monterey childcare center in December. KinderCare, which provides childcare for infants as well as toddlers, has served Monterey Peninsula families at the Presidio of Monterey for 23 years. The city is required to sublease the property to a child care provider.
