Carrillo Charged in Death of Federal Officer 06-16-20 14:55 DC

The FBI announced today (Tuesday) that Steven Carrillo, already charged in the murder of Santa Cruz County deputy Damon Gutzwiller, is one of two-man now charged in the murder of a federal officer in Oakland.

Based on blood writing on a vehicle and a ballistic vest found in Ben Lomond, law enforcement also believes that Carrillo may be involved in the radical right-wing “Boogaloo” movement. He is facing federal murder and attempted murder charges.

U.S. Attorney David Anderson said that on May 29th, Protective Security Officer Pat Underwood and his partner were injured in a drive-by shooting at the Federal Courthouse in Oakland. Underwood died of his injuries

Anderson said it is believed Carrillo was the shooter and the other person charged, 30-year-old Robert Alvin Justus Jr. of Millbrae, was the driver.
