California to Go Clean Energy by 2045 09-11-18 04:41 DC

California Governor Jerry Brown on Monday signed a law that commits the state to obtain 100-percent of its electricity from clean sources by 2045. The law keeps California at the forefront of governments in addressing climate change. The signing comes as a United Nations climate conference gets underway this week in San Francisco.

The new law, SB 100, additionally requires that 50 percent of the state’s electricity come from renewable energy by 2026 and 60 percent by 2030, up from the current level of 32 percent.
