Cal-Trans Volunteer of Decade 05/15/11 9p.m. TDH

An 87-year-old scotts valley man has been chosen to be given an award by cal-trans, for his outstanding volunteer work.   Harvey holm was named cal-trans’ santa cruz county volunteer of the decade earlier this month.   Holm was previously named volunteer of the year, in 2002, for his continued work is cleaning up litter on highway-17.   holm has now volunteered for over a decade, keeping a stretch from santa’s village road to summit road clear of litter.   Holm said he does it in honor of his son, who died in 1988.  Harvey holm is set to be honored with the award, at a ceremony scheduled for may 25th, in Monterey.
