Burn permits will again be valid in Monterey and San Benito counties effective 8 AM tomorrow (Friday). CalFire had suspended burn permits in the two counties because of increased fire risk earlier in the year.
Holders of agriculture and residential burn permits can now burn on permissible burn days. While CalFire said the reduced of wildland fires has been reduced by rain, higher humidity, and cooler temperatures.
There is a long list of burn requirements that must be followed and are available from CalFire and local fire agencies.
