A burglary attempt at Family Cycling Center in Capitola was foiled by a suspicious onlooker last Thursday. Shortly after after 630 a-m, Sheriff’s deputies were notified of a burglary in progress after two suspects broke into the shop and began loading bikes into a rental van. Arriving deputies attempted to pull the van over and a chase ensued, ending in Aptos where the suspects ditched the vehicle and fled on foot. A search of the area found 36-year-old Kevin Devlin from San Carlos and 35-year-old Marcell Clark from Santa Clara hiding nearby. Both men were identified by surveillance video and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail. The bicycles were returned to the business.
