a man convicted of robbing 4 banks in santa cruz and santa clara counties in 2009 and 2010 was sentenced yesterday. 46 year old kent lee maxon pleaded no contest in september to robbing two santa cruz banks at gunpoint before fleeing on a bicycle. maxon, had been working as a carpenter but had fallen into hard economic times, he said he robbed the banks to provide for his family. maxon was sentenced to 14 years in state prison and pay 5-thousand dollars in restitution.
