Bank building, dome-camp, cleared 12/04/11 9:35p.m. TDH

Santa Cruz authorities are considering pursuing felony vandalism charges against the group of people that occupied a former bank.   About 30 protesters left the building at 75 River Street without confrontation.  Santa Cruz Police officers were preparing to remove the occupiers overnight Saturday, however they left before the operation was carried out.   The cost of damage is being assessed.   police are trying to determing the identities of those involved. Meanwhile, in an unrelated action, santa cruz county sheriff’s deputies removed a dome that “occupy santa cruz” protesters had constructed outside of the county court house.  Dozens of tents were also removed from the property.  The encampment in San Lorenzo Park was not removed.
