August 7, 2017: Cause of Detwiler Fire  

(06:50) California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection investigators announced the cause of the fire, which started last month in Mariposa County, was due to the discharge of firearms.   The Detwiler Fire was reported on July 16, and has burned over 81,000 acres and has destroyed 131 structures.    A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.   Anyone with information on the person or persons responsible for starting the fire is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Hotline at 559-498-7867.
