(11:00) Gilroy – A Gilroy man is dead after a shootout with 2 Sheriff Deputies in Northern California. The shooting took place on Tuesday morning on the 9000 block of Marysville Road, near communities of Oregon House and Dobbins. Deputies responded to a call of a disturbance over marijuana plants. 33 year old Mark Sanchez fled the scene on foot. Deputies located Sanchez a short time later and a shootout began. Two Yuba County Deputies were shot and seriously injured and Sanchez was reported dead around 2:00 p.m. the same day. Sanchez was a previously convicted felon that had served time in California State Prison for multiple violent felonies including assault with a deadly weapon, as well as burglary and possession of stolen property. Sanchez also had two active warrants out of Gilroy for robbery and disturbing the peace.
