(12:00) Salinas – Police and Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at an abandoned motel. The incident occurred at the Travel Inn Motel in Salinas on John and Pajaro Streets on Friday. When personnel arrived the fire had already started burning through the second floor of the motel. Firefighters reported finding belongings that would suggest someone had been living where the fire started, which was on the first-level apartment. Firefighters were able to contain the fire quickly. There is an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
