(10:00) Monterey – The third Monterey County Homeless Veteran “Stand Down” event took place over the weekend. More than 400 veterans came out and received complimentary clothing, food, legal and dental attention as well as showers and a place to sleep. The veterans were also given the opportunity to complete community service sentences. The Stand Down event is made possible by dentists, doctors, military personnel, community service members and the people who donated their time and goods to help support the veterans.
