(23:34) BEACH FLATS – Santa Cruz City Parks And Recreation staff could be out as early as Thursday, to sign subleases with gardeners. That’s because the Santa Cruz City Council has voted to approve a new 3-year lease (for a portion of the Beach Flats’ Community Garden). The new lease is being offered by the Seaside Company which owns that land. The Seaside Company also owns the other 10 thousand square foot area on the same parcel with the Gardens, and the company hopes to turn into a plant nursery). The Seaside Company has included an option in the lease, that says that they can rescind the new 1-dollar-a-year lease with a 90-day notice if they don’t get the city’s approval to go ahead with their nursery.
