(10:30) Santa Cruz – A trial date has been set for two brothers who are accused of shooting and killing a man in Santa Cruz. The incident took place on August 2, 2014 when Marcus Bates and Michael Bates exchanged gunfire with Alejandro Sanchez as they were driving on Mission Street. During the gang rival Sanchez was shot and crashed into a restaurant parking lot. The Bates brothers are facing gang-related murder charges in connection with Sanchez’s death. A trial date has been set for June 12, at 9 a.m.
