(17:40) SALINAS – Salinas city council members have voted to bring back a community fireworks show (that had been cancelled during the drought). The city council also did a first reading for a proposed “social host” ordinance, that would hold homeowners and renters accountable for people who discharge fireworks on their property. The “social host” ordinance will get a second reading at the council’s may 3rd meeting. Voters in the June primary, will decide whether safe and sane fireworks should be allowed within Salinas city limits. It can pass with a majority vote.
