(17:19) 17:20- Greenfield police have released the identity of a fatal shooting victim. Shortly before 10:30 a-m, Thursday morning, patrol units responded to a reported shooting near Elm Avenue and Elmwood drive. At the scene officers located 23-year-old Javier Castro of Greenfield fatally shot in his S-U-V. It was the second homicide of the week, on Tuesday 19 year old Abigail Gasca Chavez was found fatally shot in her home. At this time it is unknown if the homicides are connected. Anyone with information on the shootings is to contact the Monterey county district attorney’s office.
