In recent years, traffic fatalities have spiked 12 percent on April 20th….which is similar to the increase in such accidents on Superbowl Sunday. With this being the first year of 4/20 with legalized recreational marijuana in California, AAA will be offering their Tipsy Tow service. It will start at 4:20 p.m. Friday, and continue until 4:20 a.m. Saturday morning. People who want to take advantage of the service are asked to call 1-800-AAA-HELP (which is 1-800-222-4357) and ask for a Tipsy Tow. The service provides a free ride home, and vehicle tow of up to 10 miles. For mileage beyond that, motorists are charged a standard towing rate. People do not need to be AAA members to use the service.
