A Former King City Police Sergeant Was Sentenced On Friday -05/3/15-0755-PD

A former King City Police Sergeant was sentenced on Friday. In a plea deal made last year with Monterey county prosecutors, 45 year old Mark Baker pled no contest to false imprisonment, stemming from an incident in August 2013, when, in uniform, Baker illegally detained and criminally threatened a man he believed to have stolen his personal truck. Baker recovered his property and no arrests or reports were made. Baker was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest, 100 hours of community service, and five years probation. Baker was also one of six King City Officers arrested for an illegal towing scam.
