Although the 1st flu death has just been reported at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas, it was actually the 3rd flu death in Monterey County this season. The Center For Disease Control reports that at least 29-hundred people have died from the flu this season.
This season’s dominant strain has been Influenza B, and children are particularly susceptible to it.
