MONTEREY – The city of Monterey, and a Fisherman’s Wharf businessman, have agreed on a settlement. Sam Balesteri now has 30 days to close his business, and return the property to the city. Balesteri spent over a year fighting the changes to his lease agreement, and his 2nd lawsuit against the city (seeking reimbursement of money he spent to “improve” the unit over the past 20-30 years) is expected to go to trial next year.
