Authorities in santa cruz are looking for a man that evaded police officers in the ucsc area yesterday. after nearly striking a bicyclist, California Highway Patrol officers attempted to pull over david perez on empire grade road, south of heller drive, when he fled. Despite assistance from UCSC police officers, perez was able to abandon his dodge Durango and flee. David perez is currently on parole for felony hit-and-run, and is also a registered sex offender. Anyone with information about perez is encouraged to contact authorities.
