2 separate pit bull attacks were reported in salinas on saturday. In one incident, a 57-year-old woman was attacked as she tried to protect her poodle from the pit bull, which had escaped from a yard on the 2-hundred block of Osage Drive. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Her poodle was taken to an animal hospital to be treated for lacerations, while the pit bull was quarantined. In the 2nd incident, salinas police officers responded to maple street, after receiving a call about a pit bull attacking a cat. The dog charged at officers, and was shot. The pit bull was taken to an animal hospital.
