10 Monterey Co Schools to Reopen In-Person 10-15-2000 16:54 DC

Ten schools in Monterey County have received waivers from the California Department of Public Health to reopen for in-person education.

Seven of the schools are private schools and three are public schools located in rural parts of Monterey county. Despite getting approval most schools are still planning to make sure they meet state guidelines before reopening. The waivers are only applicable to grades TK-Sixth.

Students will have their temperatures checked before they get out of the car in the morning and teachers and employees have been tested for COVID-19.

Under the state guidelines, routine testing is required and it is recommended 25% of staff get tested every two weeks.
