A candle-lighting ceremony will be held tonight in Santa Cruz to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.
Organizer Bek Phillips says the candle-lighting observance will be held at 6:30 at the clock tower on Pacific Avenue. Phillips, who has lost a brother to suicide, says her goal for the event is to give hope to those in the community who need it. Candles will be provided.
