A contracted arborist said people placed wood, nails, and tacks on a Big Sur Road yesterday as a kind of “trap”, and when she got out to check her flattened tires, some armed men came out of the bushes in a threatening manner. She hopped back in her truck and fled the scene on the flat tires. Monterey county sheriff’s deputies and C.H.P. officers searched the Coast Road area off Highway 1, but the search was called off around sunset….without finding the reported gunman.
