Wed. – SC SB City Council Races 2020 11-04-20 03:45 S.S.

Santa Cruz County

In Scotts Valley, challenger John Lewis ran against Incumbents Donna R. Lind, Jack Dilles, and Randy Johnson for the 3 seats available on the Scotts Valley City Council, and all 3 incumbents were re-elected to the Scotts Valley City Council.

In the field of 9 candidates running for 4 seats on the Santa Cruz City Council the top 4 votegetters were Sonja Brunner, Incumbents Martine Watkins and Sandy Brown and Shebreh Kalantari-Johnson.

In the Capitola City Council race, incumbent Kristen Petersen garnered 40.68 percent of the vote and Margaux Keiser picked up 26.35 percent to beat out Will “Little Bear” Reising, and Anthony Rovai for the 2 seats on the Capitola City Council. 

In Watsonville’s City Council races Eduardo Montesino ran un-opposed for the District 1 seat, while incumbent Aurelio Gonzalez prevailed against challenger Vanessa Quiroz-Carter for the District 2 seat on the Watsonville City Council, and in District 6 Jimmy Dutra handily beat out Tony Gomez with 64 percent of the vote.    

San Benito County

Hollister – In Hollister Rick Perez appears to have garnered 66 percent of the vote for the District 1 seat, while Tim Burns appears to have edged out Julio Rodriguez (with 53 percent of the vote) for the District 4 seat.

San Juan Bautista – As of last night’s 10 p.m. update, in San Juan Bautista, Scott Freels, and John Freeman  appear to have won the 2 available seats on the City Council with 30.7 and 29.11 percent of the votes. Jackie Morris was close behind with 27.7 percent of the vote.
