Watsonville Man Arrested in Wife’s Murder 10/20/20 16:14 DC
A Watsonville man accused of murdering his wife was arrested after reentering the U.S. from Mexico.
Watsonville police say the Border Patrol contacted them at about 5 p.m. Monday to say 47-year-old Cesar Hernandez was being detained at San Ysidro.
He has waived extradition and been booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on second-degree murder charges.
Police say they believe Hernandez killed his wife, 24-year-old Brenda Becerra, last week at their home in the 700 block of Rodriguez Street. Her body was found in the couple’s only car about 10 hours later in Santa Cruz.
