Watsonville police are increasing patrols after a recent rise in graffiti throughout the city. Police have interrupted and arrested five juveniles in three different tagging cases. Just before 5 p.m. on November 24th, two 15-year-old suspects were arrested and released for tagging near the 300 block of West Beach Street. Then on November 27th, two 17-year-olds were arrested after spray-painting a wall near the 30 block of West Beach Street at about 1 p.m. They face multiple charges and were transported to juvenile hall. Officers also arrested a 13-year-old around 3 p.m. on November 27 after they witnessed him defacing a school sign with a marker. He was arrested for vandalism and released to his parents.
