(10:00)WATSONVILLE- Watsonville police arrested a known gang member on weapons charges Friday. Shortly after 2 p.m. officers approached a group of men illegally consuming alcohol near West Front and Marchant Streets. Upon seeing the officers the men fled on foot. Police observed one of the fleeing men toss a loaded firearm into the bushes and a foot chase ensued. 26 year old Juan Ortiz was apprehended near the Pajaro River and booked into county jail on multiple charges.
