Last June, the Santa Cruz City Council approved a public Black Lives Matter mural that would be located in downtown. The council’s move made Santa Cruz the only second city in the U.S. to get a BLM mural approved. And the first to build a sustainable plan that includes ongoing Juneteenth events.
The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History has reached out to the public asking for volunteers to paint and clean up during the mural creation on September 12th downtown. We have the necessary form posted on the KSCO.com website in the news section.
People interested in volunteering can fill out a form at this link.
