The name of a Santa Cruz woman, who died after she was hit by an SUV on Modesto Street in Santa Cruz has been release. Mckenzie Gilbert, who would have turned 24 years-old today, was hit while she was crossing an intersection on Friday. Due to the fact that 24 year-old Kelsey Knoll was increasing the speed of her SUV, when it hit Gilbert, the incident is believed to have been intentional.
Knoll, who has been arrested in the past for drug-related charges and DUI’s (including a recent DUI at CVS in Felton), is being charged with murder in this case.
