A van rear-ended a Smart Car and killed an occupant of the small electric vehicle. The Santa Cruz Sentinel reports that the accident pushed the smart car into the intersection at Clares Street and 41st Avenue around 10 a.m. today.
The woman who was killed in the accident has not been identified. The area was closed to traffic until almost 4 PM as the investigation continued. The Smart car was pushed into an on-duty bus occupied by a driver and eight passengers, none of who were injured.
