One man is dead and a second critically injured following a shooting in Sand City early yesterday morning. Officials say both victims were travelling northbound on Highway 1 near the Tioga overpass when they were shot around 12:30 a.m. The driver was able to pull into a gas station on California Avenue. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP shut down both northbound lanes of Highway 1 around 11 a.m. for an hour. The Seaside-Fremont Street off-ramp was closed for 5 hours. The incident is under investigation.
