A trial is scheduled to begin March 2nd in a Monterey county court room for the man accused of kidnapping and killing a 13 year-old Fort Ord girl 21 years ago. 58 year-old Charles Holifield, who is serving time for sexually assaulting 2 teenage girls and kidnapping a woman at gunpoint, faces a life sentence for kidnapping and killing Christina Marie Williams (who disappeared while walking the family dog the evening of June 12th of 1998). In exchange for the death penalty not being sought in this case, yesterday Holifield waived both his right to a jury trial, and his right to file all state and federal writs and appeals if he is found guilty.
