(UPDATE) January 26, 2016: Two Injured in Santa Cruz Shooting

(Updated at 17:02) – Two people were injured in a shooting in Santa Cruz early Tuesday morning. The incident took place around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Jose Avenue and Capitola Road. Officials say a 38-year-old woman was driving with a 40-year-old male passenger when shots were fired at them. Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Capitola Road was closed between 7th and 17th avenues Tuesday morning while deputies investigated. Anyone with information is to contact the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

(Updated at 08:20) – Deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred in Santa Cruz early Tuesday morning. The incident was reported around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Jose Avenue and Capitola Road. Officials say multiple shots were fired into a vehicle. One man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies closed off Capitola Road for an investigation. The roadway is now fully reopened. However, Jose Avenue is expected to be closed at Rodriguez Street for another hour.
