(UPDATE) January 12, 2016: Investigators Identify Cause of Soquel House Fire

(Updated at 06:27) – Investigators have identified the cause of a fire that displaced two residents in Soquel over the weekend. The blaze was reported at a residence on the 5000 block of Soquel Drive around 2 a.m. Sunday. Both residents were able to escape without injury. Officials say the fire was caused by the wiring of a light switch and fixture in the attic.

(Posted January 11 at 07:14) SOQUEL – No one was injured when a fire broke out at home in Soquel early Sunday morning. The blaze was reported at a residence on the 5000 block of Soquel Drive around 2 a.m. Both residents were able to escape the home without injury. They have since been relocated by the Red Cross. The home sustained extensive damage. Investigators believe the fire started in the home’s attic. The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time. (S.G.)
