(Updated at 06:42) – A man wanted for terrorist threats is at large following a standoff with Salinas police and U.S. Marshals. The standoff began around 2 p.m. Tuesday at a residence on the 1300 block of Cherokee Drive. Officials say Austin Leon-Calomares was armed and hiding in his parent’s home. Leon-Calomares reportedly escaped from the residence sometime after 1:15 Wednesday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.

The standoff began Tuesday at a home on the 1300 block of Cherokee Drive. Officials say Austin Leon-Calomares is hiding in his parent’s home and believe he is armed. As of 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, Leon-Calomares was still inside the residence. Law enforcement officers have been in communication with the suspect. (S.G.)
