The Dolan Fre, which is believed to have been intentionally started by a 30 year-old Fresno man Tuesday evening, has grown to at least 4,000 acres. The fire in Big Sur is burning about 43 miles south of Carmel, and 6 miles north of Limekiln State Park, has led to the evacuation of some homes and the Esalen Institute. It is also threatening the California Condor Sanctuary in the Ventana Wilderness. Highway 1 is closed between the town of Lucia (loo-SEE-ah) and Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. Ivan Geronimo Gomez was booked into Monterey county jail. He faces charges of Arson….and his bail was set at 2 million dollars.
