Santa Cruz county got a boost in corona virus testing with the help of U-C Santa Cruz. The county will partner with the university to expand testing which is expected to increase daily testing capacity by hundreds. The “Cares Act” provided $805,000 to buy additional lab equipment for the molecular diagnostic lab at UCSC. Once up and running the lab should increase testing to 600 to 800 tests day.
