Two Pulled From Rip Current 10-08-18 11:00 DC

A CAL-FIRE rescue swimmer pulled two people to safety after they got caught in a rip current Sunday afternoon at Monastery Beach in Monterey County.

One of the two was a lifeguard who became stuck in high surf while trying to rescue a swimmer in distress. The call came in about 3:35 P.M. Sunday and the two were out-of-the-water and uninjured about 15 minutes later.

Monastery Beach is located just south of Carmel-By-The-Sea.
