Two new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported by health officials in Santa Cruz County.
The 11th and 12th COVID-19 fatalities include a Black man in his early 70s and a white woman in her early 90s, They both had underlying health conditions and both were residents at the Watsonville Nursing Center and Post Acute, a skilled nursing facility.
An announcement last week from County Health Officer Gail Newel confirmed an outbreak at the facility even though visitation restrictions were still in place and were not relaxed.
