a salinas man was arrested on suspicion of auto theft. monterey county sheriff’s deputies were contacted after a man allegedly took a car for a test drive on monday and never brought it back. deputies found the vehicle wednesday near brooks road. frederico sanchez admitted to taking the car and was booked into monterey county jail.
