A Scotts Valley Police Sergeant has been fired from his job due to allegations he embezzled funds. Mark Lopez was accused of taking more than $2,600.00 from the Cops ‘N Rodders Car Show fundraiser, and spending it in part on a scholarship for his daughter. Due to a “lack of evidence”, Prosecutors did not charge Lopez with a crime although Lopez is said to have returned the money.
