The co-founder of a Scotts Valley company announced his departure this week. Neal Saiki says he’s leaving electric motorcycle company, Zero Motorcycles, to re-enter a competition he first attempted in 1989 to design and build the 1st human powered helicopter. Saiki will be competing for a $250,000 prize during The Igor I. Sikorsky Human Powered Helicopter Competition, where he will be required to build a machine that reaches a height of 3-meters and hovers for 60 seconds.
