a san jose resident who worked as a surf instructor in santa cruz, died on wednesday, after being pulled from the water unconscious. 44-year-old jonathan luhn was surfing off of san francisco’s ocean beach, when he was discovered unresponsive at 1p.m. he was taken to to u.c. san francisco medical center, where he was later pronounced dead. luhn had helped start the surf-teaching school aloha wave rider in santa cruz.
