A crowd of about 30 gathered Monday night to speak the names of friends and loved ones who died by suicide. The observance was part of a global day for suicide awareness. At the event, Carol Williamson, president of the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Santa Cruz told KSCO that if you are concerned about someone, the best thing is to talk to them about how they are feeling. Then try to get them to professional help.
