Although the F.D.A. has not yet identified where the tainted romaine was grown and processed, they have determined that some Romaine is safe to eat. They say that Romaine was not yet being shipped from Arizona, Florida, Mexico, and California’s Imperial Valley….when the e-Coli-tainted lettuce appeared in stores….so romaine from those areas is still safe to eat. People are encouraged to check the labels for the point of origin; and for Romaine not in packages, grocers and retailers are asked to post that information near the store’s register(s).
