Some fire evacuees will need to submit a change of address form in order to be able to vote in the upcoming presidential election. That’s because ballots cannot be forwarded to a new address….even if a “forwarding order’ has been enacted through the postal service. Area residents, who cannot receive a ballot at the location where they are already registered to vote, will need to either go-online and submit a change of address form with their Elections Department, or go in to their elections department and submit the change of address form in-person, or they can vote in-person.
In Santa Cruz county, the change of address forms for the Elections Department can also be turned in to the Recovery Resource Center in Santa Cruz, or the Emergency Evacuation Shelter at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds in Watsonville.
Early Voting is slated to being October 5th at both the Santa Cruz County Elections Department and the Watsonville City Clerks Office.
16 more polling places are scheduled to be open around Santa Cruz county from October 31st through November 3rd….and the locations for those will be posted on the Santa Cruz County Eection Department’s website which is: VotesCount.com
