(07:00) Santa Cruz County – A new rehabilitation and re-entry facility is being built for inmates. The goal of building the new facility is to reduce the relapse of inmates repeating criminal behavior. The facility will offer programs such as: yoga, academics, legal services, 12-step programs, counseling, employment opportunities and much more. The facility will also include a visitation center that will offer inmates an opportunity to rebuild relationships with their families. The minimum security facility was made possible under senate bill 1022 and will cost 24.6 million dollars. it will be located off Harkins Slough Road outside of Watsonville. It is scheduled to open in December 2017.
