(12:00) Salinas – The Salinas Police Department conducted two sting operations on Tuesday. The first one took place at the Monterey County Courthouse. Undercover officers sat in the courtroom and would follow defendants out to the parking lots, who had been by the judge for D-U-I charges and for unlicensed drivers. Three people were caught for getting into a vehicle and attempting to drive without a license. The second sting operation took place at the intersection on Williams Road and Grandhaven Street. In two hours, officers wrote 15 tickets, 12 of which were issued for drivers failing to give pedestrians the right-of-way.
